For the past 10 years, Isak has owned a Private Residence in South End. Isak estimates the additional monthly maintenance and cleaning costs on this asset, as the result of the manganese ore, to be in the region of R300 per month. Dear MyPE The government in the Eastern Cape is continuing to kill small businesses by not paying them within 30 days. Small businesses are the backbone of growing the economy and have the potential to create 90% of new jobs. Our broken payment system needs to be fixed. According to a reply to a legislature question I asked Finance MEC Sakhumzi Somyo in October last year, 7 269 businesses in the Eastern Cape are owed a total of R466-million in excess of 30 days. Dear MyPE Ten Eastern Cape Social Development officials have been sitting at home since July last year earning their full monthly salaries, costing the province close to R1,2-million so far while NPOs are starved of funds and services.
