Motherwell Tracing Operations Lead to Multiple Arrests

On 09 January 2017 Port Elizabeth's Motherwell Cluster Hijacking Task Team and the detectives of all the Motherwell stations conducted a special tracing operation from 21:00 to 05:00. The team concentrated on serious crimes following a recent spate of house breakings and robberies in the cluster. In the process 67 houses were searched and 20 suspects arrested for crimes ranging from attempted murder, assault GBH and house robbery to unlawful possession of fire arms and ammunition. Port Elizabeth: It is alleged that at about 09:30 this morning, the owner of a house in Gomery Place Summerstrand had surprised an intruder who was busy packing household items into a bag. The woman screamed and the suspect grabbed her by her arm. The 57 year old woman’s husband who was in the outbuilding rushed in and confronted the suspect who was making a hasty exit. A scuffle ensued between the two men and the complainant succeeded in overpowering the man. Port Elizabeth: Two suspects aged 21 and 26 years old were arrested last night (10 January @ 19h45) for an alleged shooting incident which took place earlier in the day in Arcadia Bethelsdorp. Dear MyPE The Council in Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality yesterday resolved that the controversial Municipal Manager, Martin Noel Pietersen, be suspended. The DA calls on the Council to set clear parameters for the suspension of the Municipal Manager. Mr Pietersen must not be allowed to drag the matter of his appeal on for an indefinite period of time and cripple service delivery in the process.
