Blasting is scheduled to take place on the R61 between Baziya and Mthatha Airport on Thursday, 17 March 2016 between 3pm and 3:15pm. The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) would like to notify motorists that they can expect a delay of 15 minutes. “Motorists are asked to plan their trips accordingly and to use caution when making use of the road,” said Mbulelo Peterson, Sanral Southern Region’s Regional Manager. Port Elizabeth – The trial of Eastern Cape police spokesperson Marinda Mills will begin in June, the Zwelitsha Magistrate’s Court heard on Tuesday. National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Tsepo Ndwalaza confirmed that the matter was postponed until June 8 and 9 at the King Williams Town Regional Magistrates Court. “The investigation is complete and the defence has received the dockets from the state.” Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi previously said Mills allegedly signed a fraudulent claim for an individual who was meant to attend a meeting. “The person claimed for the …

Dear MyPE Today I have opened a case of crimen injuria and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, against the person who knocked Omoefe Acboriyede off his pizza delivery bike in an attack during which insulting and racist language was used. This premeditated assault which took place near Cape Road in Port Elizabeth was filmed by the suspect, who can be heard using horrific racist and hateful language, directed at a man on a motorbike, purely as a result of the colour of his skin. The count down to the main Human Rights Day celebration continues. As part of the Human Rights Month events, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will on 16 and 17 of March 2016 host Human Rights School Debates. The finals of the inaugural EP Cricket/ T20 U13 Knockout Challenge, Powered by KFC took place on Saturday, 12 March, at St George's Park. A registered nurse, Lulama Cabela, who is accused of aborting 25 foetuses and disposing of the bodies, was re-arrested by police for allegedly not adhering to her bail conditions. Cabela was back in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court on Monday where the case against her was postponed until today. She will now remain in custody.
