Dear MyPE The Eastern Cape Health Department unexpectedly reneged on their commitment to provide a year's supply of enzymes to Arlene Scheepers (5) who is suffering from the fatal Gaucher's Disease. Arlene's family lives in the Vastrap informal settlement in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth and cannot afford the life-saving enzymes. After requests by the DA, the Eastern Cape Health Department agreed to supply the medicine at a cost of R48 000. Port Elizabeth – Murder-accused Christopher Panayiotou could possibly be walking free ahead of his next scheduled court appearance after a date has finally been set for his appeal against the decision to deny him bail. The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed that Panayiotou's appeal will be heard at the High Court in Grahamstown on July 20. Development financier, the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) has announced it will bid farewell to Lance Schultz, the managing director of its subsidiary, the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) at the end of July.
