The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, in conjunction with local religious groupings, has scheduled a prayer service for peace and stability – essential to service delivery, as well as the economic development of Nelson Mandela Bay. The prayer service will take place on Thursday, 13 September 2012 at 10:00 at the Babs Madlakane Hall, KwaNobuhle. Current account deficit widens

South Africa's current account deficit widened to 6.4% of gross domestic product, its biggest since 2008, said the Reserve Bank. "With South Africa's terms of trade also registering a modest further deterioration, the deficit on the current account of the balance of payments widened to 6.4% of gross domestic product, the highest deficit ratio since the third quarter of 2008," said the Reserve Bank in its September Quarterly Bulletin released on Tuesday. SPAR Eastern Cape's female employees used their annual internal ladies' day not to pamper themselves but to give back to the community by spending the day at two underprivileged crèches in Nelson Mandela Bay last Friday. The 95 women divided themselves between the Lilitha Crèche in Veeplaas and the Sonwabile Educare Centre in New Brighton, where they entertained the children, cooked them a meal and left behind a variety of educational materials and toys.
