Listen while you work:
This ‘experiment’ is targeted towards heterosexual males.
Do yourself a favour and troll/stalk through Social Media Sites such as Instagram and Facebook.
Select a random female’s account and then read the comments underneath any selfie posted by the female account owner.
Now this is where I need you (as a heterosexual male) to dig deep into the recesses of your soul, to connect with your inner sensitive self.
As, you scroll down and read the comments notice at which ones you pause and think the following thought; “Creepy!”
Now notice which gender you thought the word ‘Creepy’ of.
Now ask yourself the deep question; “Why did I think ‘creepy’ of every male comment?”
Is it because we have become conditioned to fear complimenting a member of the opposite sex whenever they post selfies of themselves?
After all – the women of the world recognise that the selfie is an expression of self love that is crying out for validation from the poster. That person posting a selfie is looking for compliments and, quite frankly, if you look for compliments then please don’t feel creeped out when a man compliments you.
The danger here for society is that we have become conditioned to treating every compliment from a man with a smidgin of distrust.
Over the years our society has treated men with fear and suspicion – all as a result of the actions of a few of us men that have not been the best of human beings.
I am not qualified to fix this but I am qualified to ask you to try.
