Today, the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Team One SA Spokesperson on State Capture, Natasha Mazzone MP, will be laying criminal charges against Environmental Affairs Minister Mokonyane at the Parkview Police Station, following the testimony of former Bosasa COO, Angelo Agrizzi, at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture this past week.
In his testimony, Agrizzi revealed under oath that over a span of several years Minister Mokonyane allegedly received an amount totalling to R50 000, on a monthly basis from the company, amongst other numerous gifts. He also revealed that the then head of the ANC’s 2016 election campaign, Mokonyane, allegedly accepted cash contributions related to the ANC’s Siyanqoba Rally at Ellis Park in July 2016.
It is clear that Minister Mokonyane played a central role in aiding and abetting the capture of our state and she cannot be trusted to serve in the best interests of the people.
