Now going into its 3rd consecutive year, the day-long Nelson Mandela Bay Investor Seminar will be taking place on Wednesday, 17 June 2015 at NMB Stadium, Port Elizabeth. The seminar will be giving dialogue and insights to local business. The theme of this year’s seminar is “Weathering the storm. Getting your business through tough economic times”.
The Main auditorium which will see top speakers in their respective fields sharing knowledge and insights – including the likes of Edge Financial Group, KPMG, PwC, IDC, The Hope Factory, Rob McWilliams Attorneys, a special talk from Mr Phil Gutsche and many other well-respected business persons. Last year’s seminar saw more than 2000 feet through the door and the event’s hosts are expecting to double that figure this year.
Chairman of Coca-Cola Sabco, Mr Phil Gutsche, will deliver a special talk on how this global brand has stood the test of time locally – celebrating 75 years of business this year. This year’s seminar will pay tribute to the last 75 years and Mr Gutsche will take the audience through a historical journey of the company.
This year’s seminar will also include a business expo aimed mainly at SMME’s with approximately 40 companies exhibiting with various activations and activities happening throughout the day – including a Coca-Cola memorabilia activation – for a trip down memory lane.
Coca-Cola will also have a stand whereby female entrepreneurs are encouraged to come and find out more about their 5by20 campaign which is The Coca-Cola Company’s global commitment to enable the economic empowerment of 5 million women entrepreneurs across the company’s value chain by 2020.
One of the other activities taking place throughout the day is “Your Money Novice Entrepreneur Competition – Powered by Mpesa and NYDA” which is aimed solely at the entrepreneurial youth of Nelson Mandela Bay.
The competition will give young entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch business ideas in a “Dragons Den” styled event. Fifteen finalists will emerge on the day of which four will be chosen who will walk away with a mentorship programme and will have first preference in receiving a R10 000 grant from NYDA.
The NMB Investor Seminar encourages all creative entrepreneurs of Nelson Mandela Bay to take part in this stimulating opportunity.
As with last year, the audience will also get the opportunity to interact and ask questions to all speakers with Q&A couch sessions as well as one-on-one sessions with some of the speakers in break-away rooms.
The Hope Factory will also host interactive couch-styled sessions throughout the day, aimed specifically at SMME’s and emerging entrepreneurs.
Registration will open at 07h30, whilst the seminar will commence at 08h00 and will go on throughout the day ending off with a “beat the traffic” networking session at 17h00.
